From the Chinese fishing nets of Cochin, cruise the tranquil backwaters of Kerala on a luxury houseboat. Continue to Calicut and the epic mountain scenery of Wayanad in the Western Ghats, with its red earth, vivid green rice paddies, bamboo and rubber, cardamom and coffee plantations. Onto gracious Mysore, known for its glittering royal heritage, a city of sandalwood, spices and silk, finishing in Bangalore.

Along the way, explore one of the oldest medical systems in the world – Ayurveda. This traditionally ran parallel with Western medicine within India, but the two systems are now entwined more closely together.

Learn how Ayurveda and Western medicine are becoming much more integrated with visits to a range of practices and some leading practitioners, including the famous Soukya Holistic Health Care Centre in Bangalore, where your tour leader, Wendy Denning, has spent several weeks.

Experience contemporary integrative medicine within the culture that gave birth to Ayurveda on a tour that is itself designed to be a restful experience, with ample opportunities for boat rides, massage and relaxation as you enjoy the cultural treasures and stunning natural beauty of South India.
