India is home to one of the world’s oldest religions and some of its most beautiful man made structures, spectacular landscapes and wildlife and a vibrant and colourful society clinging to ancient traditions whilst embracing the modern world. Travelling through India is a kaleidoscopic experience like no other and this tour will showcase some of its greatest cities and landscapes.

With ambitious government targets, domestic schemes and revised international agreements, India is uniquely poised to become a “pharmacy of the world”. This tour will make contact with many links in the chain of pharmaceutical development; witness the farming of medicinal plants, tour pharmaceutical factories and visit institutions like Delhi’s Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University. Along the way, you will be introduced to a talent pool of academics, clinical researchers and innovators.

Start in Delhi, where Mughal and colonial history rub shoulders alongside a vibrant contemporary culture. To Agra, a city crowned by the majestic Taj Mahal, then travel west to visit the pink city of Jaipur and the blue city of Jodhpur. Return from the cusp of the desert through the green Aravalli hills to wander Udaipur’s lakeside streets before completing the tour in Mumbai, India's largest and most dynamic city. The varied cultural programme is balanced by a wide-ranging professional itinerary of visits.

Additional planned visits include the women-centred educational charity Barefoot College, Bharatpur National Park, and the conservation project Elephantastic — where you will have the chance to get up-close to the magnificent Asian Elephant. All visits have been carefully selected to ensure that your experience is authentic, ethical and supports the preservation of this rich and diverse land.
